Taking a drive? Plan for lane closures coming to Beaufort and Jasper counties this week

Beaufort and Jasper counties will be seeing a flurry of lane closures in coming days, according to several releases from Preferred Materials, Inc., which is performing the road work responsible for the lane closures.

Five lane closures will take place in Beaufort County, while there will be three in Jasper County. The closures each have different start dates, with the earliest being Sunday and the latest set for Friday. Some of the closures are set for the evening, while some are set for daytime. Specific times were not given in the releases. An expected completion time for the road maintenance was not provided, either.

Lane closures will affect these roads:

Beaufort County

▪ Trask Parkway in Beaufort County; traveling North on Trask Parkway between Parris Island Gateway and Kimes Avenue. Nighttime lane closure starting Sunday, Dec. 10.

▪ Trask Parkway in Beaufort County; traveling North on Trask Parkway between Farm Road and US 17 Charleston Highway. Daytime lane closure starting Monday, Dec. 11.

▪ Okatie Highway in Beaufort County; traveling North on Okatie Highway between Highway 278 and Commerce Place. Nighttime lane closure starting Monday, Dec. 11.

▪ Fording Island Road Hwy 278 in Beaufort County; traveling East on Fording Island Road between Buckingham Plantation Drive and Crosstree Drive. Nighttime lane closure starting Wednesday, Dec. 13.

▪ Brickyard Point Road North in Beaufort County; traveling Northwest on Brickyard Point Road North between Pleasant Point Drive and the Dead End. Daytime lane closure starting Friday, Dec. 15.

Jasper County

▪ Purrysburg Road (S-304) in Jasper County; traveling North on Purrysburg Road between Savannah River Farms Road and Church Road. Daytime closure starting Tuesday, Dec. 12.

▪ I-95 in Jasper County; traveling North and South on I-95. Nightly single lane closures on I-95 at South Bound Exits 21 & 18. Nighttime closure starting Tuesday, Dec. 12.

▪ Smiths Crossing in Jasper County; traveling East on Smiths Crossing between S Jacob Smart Boulevard and Sweet William Road. Daytime closure starting Thursday, Dec. 14.

All dates are subject to change based on weather conditions, the releases state.
