Man visits Hilton Head — Gets drunk — doesn’t know how $8,000 ended up on credit card

A man told police earlier this week that he had a drunk night on Hilton Head Island in October and after returning home found $8,000 in credit card charges, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Report.

The man said he stayed at the Sonesta Resort where he started the night drinking at the bar.

An Uber was used to get to Centerfolds Gentleman’s Club, the report states. He told police he was extremely intoxicated and couldn’t remember all of his actions.

The man told police he believes someone took advantage of his intoxicated state and overcharged his credit card.

There are no details in the report of where the charges were to.
