Diesel truck fumes and alcohol fuel brawl in Bluffton neighborhood, police report says
Bluffton police were sent to the Pinecrest neighborhood Monday after a fight between neighbors fueled by alcohol and a dispute over diesel truck fumes.
A man on Gables Lane said his neighbor came over to his yard to talk about the diesel fumes in a “highly intoxicated” state around 8:30 p.m., according to a Bluffton Police Department report,
The man’s neighbor “pushed him with both arms,” and the man wrestled his neighbor to the ground while witnesses called 911.
The man’s t-shirt was ripped as a result of the incident, but he was otherwise uninjured.
The man had been drinking that day as well, but was able to communicate with officers, the report said.
The neighbor’s wife told police that he got her husband to return to their home before officers arrived and that he was also not injured. She added that the altercation was a result of a pickup truck’s diesel fumes polluting the air near both residences.
The victim told police he did not wish to pursue charges.
