Bluffton business reports $30,000 in equipment stolen
Village Self Storage in Bluffton reported about $30,000 in equipment stolen from its property Thursday, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report.
A man told deputies he stores equipment for his landscaping business at Village Self Storage. He said he last saw the items at the site Wednesday.
When the man started his work day Thursday, he noticed a trailer full of equipment was missing, the report states. The man also said three other trucks he owns had been entered and rummaged through.
The man showed deputies that two chained locks on the gates to the storage facility had been cut off, the report states.
Security footage showed a dark vehicle back up into the storage facility with its lights off, the report states. It also shows the trailer being attached to the vehicle and driven off the site, the report states.
The make and model of the vehicle, along with identification of the individuals involved, were impossible to make out in the video, the report states.
