A 37-year-old Savannah man was arrested early Saturday morning after causing a disturbance at Hilton Head Hospital.

The man was “extremely intoxicated” and told Beaufort county Sheriff’s Office deputies that he was waiting for someone to come and pick him up from the emergency room shortly after 1 a.m., according to a Sheriff’s Office report. While waiting, he was repeatedly yelling and using profanities after being told to stop several times by the deputies.

Once the man became “belligerent” about not knowing where his girlfriend was or where he had last seen her, he was arrested for public disorderly conduct, according to the report. He was allegedly in a similar situation while drunk and lost with a minor face injury on Hilton Head Island shortly before midnight on Friday.

He was held in Beaufort County Detention Center and released Saturday afternoon, according to online detention center records. His bond information was not immediately available through online Beaufort County court documents Sunday afternoon.
