Name of victim released in Hilton Head fatal pedestrian hit and run
Serina Hardy, 23, of Hilton Head Island was struck and killed while walking across U.S. 278 early Saturday morning, Beaufort County coroner officials said Saturday.
Beaufort County Deputy Coroner David Ott said Hardy died at the scene of the accident. He said the woman was in a crosswalk on Hilton Head Island near Palmetto Parkway when struck.
Henry Pinckey, 30 of Hilton Head Island, was arrested in connection with the hit and run accident, according to S.C. Highway Patrol officials.
Pinckney was charged with felony DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call along with S.C. Highway patrol about 1:40 a.m.
