Family vacaton on Hilton Head tarnished after beach items stolen from villa

A family on Hilton Head Island missed out on the full beach experience after several items were stolen out of their shed on Sunday.

According to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report, sometime between 4 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Sunday, five beach chairs, an umbrella, four kites, a bocce ball set, a beach shelter and a blue Frisbee with a combined value of $735 were stolen from a shed at a residence on Valencia Road in the Coral Reef Villas.

The family did not discover the theft until Sunday afternoon. The person who reported the crime said the shed’s lock was rusty and not effective.

No suspects were named in the report.
