A Hilton Head Island woman was driving in the wrong place at the wrong time Thursday afternoon.
While cruising along William Hilton Parkway on the island, a pickup truck pulled out of a the parking lot of a paint store and got in front of the woman, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report released Friday.
A can of paint fell out of the back of the truck, and was hit by another vehicle, the report said.
According to the report, “...white paint (was) splashed all over the passenger side and roof” of the woman’s Toyota Camry.

When the driver of the truck realized his “tailgate fell open” and “a one gallon can of paint slid out,” he pulled over to see if he could assist, the report said.
The paint damage to woman’s car was estimated at $2,000.
