Heads up, Beaufort drivers: The cops will set up a traffic checkpoint this weekend

Beaufort police will conduct a traffic checkpoint from 9 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., Sunday at Salem Road and Old Salem Road, a police department news release said.

The focus of the checkpoint will be on driver’s licenses, registration and seatbelt use to fulfill requirements of a federal highway safety grant. Drivers are asked to use caution in the area.
