Another man arrested in connection with drug probe

An additional suspect has been arrested as a result of an ongoing investigation involving two Bluffton men who were arrested Wednesday after law enforcement found several grams of illegal drugs, pills, a rifle and cash in a raid at May River Road, according to a Bluffton Police press release.

Javon Hamilton, 27, was arrested Friday by Bluffton police and is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute crack within a half-mile of a public park, possession with intent to distribute heroin within a half-mile of a public park, possession of cocaine, possession of scheduled four substance, possession with intent to distribute crack and possession with intent to distribute heroin.

Hamilton was taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center where he is being held on a $100,000 bond.

Hamilton was arrested in connection with Justin Chin, 26, and Marquis Chappelle, 42, who were arrested Wednesday at 1242 May River Road where Bluffton Police Strategic Response Team found 156.6 grams of an unknown substance, 4.4 grams of heroin, 7.8 grams of crack, .7 grams of cocaine, 91 pills of Xanax, a rifle and more than $1,400 in cash. They were both charged with similar offenses as Hamilton.

Both Chin and Chappelle were taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center where they are each being held on a $110,000 bond.
