Bluffton men charged after raid yields heroin, crack, cocaine, pills, gun and cash
Two Bluffton men face multiple drug charges after police found several grams of drugs, pills, a rifle and cash when officers executed a search warrant on May River Road on Wednesday, according to a Bluffton Police Department news release.
Justin Chin, 26, and Marquis Chappelle, 42, were each charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession to distribute heroin within half a mile of a school, possession to distribute crack, possession to distribute crack within half a mile of a school, possession of cocaine and possession of a scheduled four substance, according to the release.
The pair were charged after the Bluffton Police Strategic Response Team, along with the Bluffton Special Investigations Unit and Patrol, executed a search warrant at 1242 May River Road. Chin was suspected of dealing drugs within the town’s limits, the release said.
Inside the residence, investigators found Chin and Chappelle with a large amount of drugs including 156.6 grams of an unknown substance, 4.4 grams of heroin, 7.8 grams of crack, .7 grams of cocaine, 91 pills of Xanax, a rifle and more than $1,400 in cash, the release said. The unknown substance was sent to a lab to be tested, the release said.
Both Chin and Chappelle were taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center where they are each being held on a $110,000 bond.
