Burglar smashes wine bottles at Bluffton restaurant
The owner of Sea Trawler Restaurant in Bluffton walked into the closed business on Thursday morning to find wine bottles smashed throughout the restaurant.
There was about $3,500 worth of damaged property at the restaurant located on Fording Island Road Extension, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office report. The owner told deputies he hadn’t been there in about a week and a half.
Two sets of shoe prints were found, indicating the suspects might have climbed a fence to get onto the roof and then came down into the restaurant through the ceiling, according to the report. In addition to the smashed wine bottles, a wine rack, a window and an A/C duct were also damaged.
