A family of five was displaced when their Hardeeville mobile home caught fire Saturday night, according to a news release from the American Red Cross.

The Old Charleston Road home sustained major damage, the release said. The parents and their three children were assisted by the Red Cross.

The organization provided comfort kits, financial assistance for temporary lodging, and referrals to other agencies to assist with the family’s long-term recovery.

Red Cross responds to a home fire every four hours in South Carolina, on average, the release said.
