Hilton Head Island man receives disturbing mail item and then calls deputies

A Hilton Head Island man noticed a rather unusual and disturbing delivery in his mailbox Thursday.

The homeowner told the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office that someone had put a magazine covered in dog feces in his mailbox, according to a police report.

Though the man said he didn’t have any suspect information or see anyone tamper with his mailbox, he expected the prank to be related to a car accident that had occured recently.

Deputies have no suspects.
