Want to hang with firefighters and raise breast cancer awareness? Here’s how.
The 7th Lowcountry Rockin’ the Pink Breast Cancer Walk will be held Oct. 15 and is being hosted by the Bluffton Firefighters’ Auxiliary.
The three-mile walk will begin and end at Red Cedar School.
Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and opening ceremonies begin at 8 a.m. The walk will include vendors, food, drinks and a silent auction filled with art, gift and food items.
The registration fee is $20 to those who register online before Sept. 30 at rockinthepink.weebly.com. The registration fee on the walk day is $25. Those wishing to register can also do so at Packet Pick-Up from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Oct. 13 at Jim n’ Nick’s on Fording Island Road.
Prizes will be awarded for best costume, farthest distance traveled to walk, oldest walker and to teams of 10 or more for most money raised.
Shirts are also available for $10.
Volunteers and donations to the silent auction are needed. All donations can be mailed or dropped off at the Bluffton Township Fire District headquarters addressed to Leslie Jones Hart, Breast Cancer Walk at 357 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909.
