Two concert series to choose from in Bluffton

Summer concerts kick off at Palmetto Bluff

Listen to music while picnicking on the lush grounds of Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton at the Summer Concert Series. Blue Dogs, a country-rock/Southern rock band, will open this year’s series May 17, followed by Tuesday night shows on June 7, 21, July 12, 26 and Aug. 9.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 6:30. The cost is $25 per car (so load ‘em in) at the gate. Food and beverage will be available for purchase (cash only). Those bringing picnics should only bring hand-held coolers and/or bags. All bags/coolers are subject to inspection.

Return of Sunset Party Series strikes right chord in Lowcountry

Bluffton’s Sunset Party Series kicks off with performances by Bluffton’s Noise Ordinance and The Neil & Bob Band. The first of six kid- and pet-friendly festival’s theme is Pizza and Pasta Palooza, showcasing food from New York City Pizza, Melly Mel’s, Lowcountry Lobster, Tavino Wood Fired Oven, Chef B, Geist & Company, Giuseppi’s Pizza.

Beer drinkers will be taken care in the domestic and craft beer gardens, featuring more than 30 beers. (Come early for the best selections.)

The Sunset parties benefit the Palmetto Animal League, a no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization serving homeless animals in the Lowcountry Festivals are held rain or shine unless severe thunderstorms are in the area.
