A new Calhoun Street dock is coming to Bluffton
The Bluffton town council held a workshop on Tuesday to plan a new public dock at the end of Calhoun Street, Bluffton Today reports.
The dock will be modeled on the one at Palmetto Bluff and would be able to accommodate 10 boats at once, which Bluffton Today notes as an improvement on the current dock’s maximum capacity of “maybe” four.
The current dock was built in the 1970s and measures 60 feet long by 10 feet wide. The new dock would be 12 feet wide and 125 feet long and have a 20-by-20 foot pier head, according to Bluffton Today.
Design and construction specifics are still being worked out, including what kinds of materials will be used, reported Bluffton Today.
Permits are expected to be issued within six months of when the town turns in its plans, said Bluffton Today.
