Air show, bed race, River Dance still to come at Beaufort Water Festival

The annual racing of the beds takes off today at the Beaufort Water Festival.

Teams race their beds on wheels down Bay Street, getting doused with water along the way.

The race starts at 5 p.m.

Then comes the River Dance at 8 p.m., featuring Silicone Sister. Slippery When Wet is the opening act.

New this year, the air show will come on Sunday, the final act of the festival.

Here are the remaining highlights for the festival:

TODAY

10 a.m.-7 p.m.: Festival Arts and Crafts Market

4:30 p.m.: Check-in for Bed Race, which starts at 5 p.m.

7 p.m.: Gates open for River Dance at 8 p.m., featuring Silicone Sister. Slippery When Wet will open.

SATURDAY

8 a.m.-4 p.m.: DragonBoat Race Day

9 a.m.-7 p.m.: Festival Arts and Crafts Market

10 a.m.-noon: Water Festival Grand Parade

Noon-4 p.m.: Nonprofit expo

7 p.m.: Gates open for the Commodore's Ball at 8 p.m., featuring Too Much Sylvia

SUNDAY

9 a.m.-2 p.m.: Festival Arts and Crafts Market

Noon-2 p.m.: Blessing of the Fleet and Parade of Boats

2:30-4:30 p.m.: Air Show
