Water Festival Remembered: Lisa Disbrow
Beaufort's Lisa Disbrow reminisced about dancing and concert-going at Water Festivals past: "One of the fondest memories I have of the Beaufort Water Festival is the now-defunct Street Dance. This was the old-fashioned event that actually closed off Bay Street for the evening. There you would gather with a group of friends, grab a cold beer on a hot, steamy, humid night and sweat the night away dancing, laughing and having a wonderful time.
"One of the most memorable Street Dances I can recall (and one of the last ones) was when the '70s band Foghat played. What an awesome concert! It felt so up-close-and personal. The band was great, playing long sets and giving out autographs during breaks. It makes me miss the event just thinking about it. How about we bring it back?"
