Bluffton High senior appointed to Naval Academy

A Bluffton High School senior has been appointed to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., by Rep. Mark Sanford.

Vincent Angelino has also been accepted to the University of South Carolina and Clemson University and, as recognition of his JROTC service, received one of 20 ROTC nominations to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, according to a news release from Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, where Angelino volunteers.

Angelino is also an accomplished runner and martial artist. He is a former competitor in the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Raider Nationals, a 9-mile obstacle run.
