Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment to perform at Parris Island
Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island is scheduled to host a performance by the U.S. Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment at 2:30 p.m. March 23.
The Marine Corps Battle Color Detachment is a ceremonial unit from Marine Barracks Washington featuring "The Commandant's Own," The United States Marine Drum & Bugle Corps, The United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, and the Official Color Guard of the Marine Corps.
Each year, this unit travels worldwide to demonstrate the discipline, professionalism, and "esprit de corps" of the Marines.
The event is scheduled to take place at the Peatross Parade Deck aboard Parris Island. A valid driver's license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration are required to drive on the depot. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
Bleacher seating will be provided, and traffic will be directed by military police. Patrons are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes early.
