Main gate at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort is closed. Here’s what’s going on
The main gate at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort will be closed beginning Monday for gate improvements, the Marines said.
The gate closed at 5 a.m., but motorists can still get access.
During the main gate closure, the primary way to enter the base will be from the “truck gate” on Kimes Avenue north of the main gate on Trask Parkway/Highway 21.
All outbound traffic will leave through the outbound lanes of the main gate as normal. Inbound traffic at the main gate is estimated to resume no earlier than 5 a.m. on Tuesday, the Marines said.
The MCAS Beaufort Visitor’s Center will be closed during the main gate closure.
Urgent business that is normally conducted at the MCAS Beaufort Visitor’s Center can be completed at the MCRD Parris Island Visitor’s Center, the Marines said.
