Grays Hill family loses home to fire

A Grays Hill family lost their Sunburst Lane home to fire on Friday.

The family wasn’t home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

An illegal outdoor fire spread to the family’s mobile home around 4 p.m., according to a Burton Fire Department news release.

The fire was confined to one room, but the entire home suffered enough smoke and fire damage to displace the family, according to the release.

The American Red Cross is now helping the family by providing temporary housing, food and clothing, according to a Red Cross news release. The group is also helping to connect the family with resources for long-term recovery.
