One of the main changes in the Boundary Street project in Beaufort is expected to be ready for drivers beginning Sunday night, according to a public service announcement from the project team.
The intersection of Boundary Street and Robert Smalls Parkway has been reconfigured to create a 90-degree turn intersection, as opposed to Robert Smalls Parkway meeting Boundary Street at an angle.
The change will feature new traffic signals and turning lanes, according to the announcement, which advises extra caution. This work was completed ahead of schedule, and many drivers will encounter the new intersection for the first time Monday morning, according to the announcement.
There is also a new traffic signal at the intersection of Polk and Boundary streets, which will be two short blocks down the road.
