United Way of the Lowcountry scores AmeriCorps grant

United Way of the Lowcountry will receive more than $136,000 in grants from AmeriCorps, an organization dedicated to engaging people in public service projects.

The local AmeriCorps program also supports the United Way of the Lowcountry's reading program, providing literacy tutoring to students in Beaufort and Jasper counties, according to a United Way news release.
