Thursday detour in Beaufort part of Boundary Street project
Traffic will be rerouted Thursday night from the intersection of Hogarth and Polk streets for water main work as part of the Boundary Street project, a city news release said.
The detour is scheduled from 10 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday. Polk Village area residents will be affected by the detour, but the closure won’t affect Boundary Street traffic, the release said.
During the detour, vehicles will be routed via Palmetto Drive and Riverbank Drive.
On Boundary Street, crews are working on new curbing, burying overhead cables and preparing to erect new traffic signals, the release said. A redesigned intersection at Robert Smalls Parkway is expected to open in August.
