Beaufort County to offer emergency response training
Beaufort County will provide training for its Community Emergency Response Team during a series of classes in August. The training is designed to prepare residents to assist their families or neighbors during an emergency.
The classes are free and will be held at Technical College of the Lowcountry at 921 Ribaut Road in Beaufort. Four weekday classes will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and one Saturday session will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The class dates and session titles are:
- Aug. 2 -- Personal Preparedness and Hazard Mitigation
- Aug. 4 -- Disaster Medical I
- Aug. 9 -- Disaster Psychology/Terrorism Response
- Aug. 11 – Disaster Medical II / CERT Organization
- Aug. 13 – Fire Suppression / Disaster Search Techniques & Exercise
