Moped driver seriously hurt in Beaufort crash
A moped driver was seriously hurt in a crash in Beaufort on Friday evening.
The moped and a sedan collided on Southside Boulevard about 7:30 p.m., Beaufort-Port Royal Fire Chief Reece Bertholf said. The moped operator was taken to the hospital with potentially critical injuries, Bertholf said.
The three people in the car were unhurt.
Moped parts were strewn across the road, and the car’s windshield was broken. The moped’s driver did not appear to be wearing a helmet, Bertholf said.
The injured rider’s condition was unavailable.
