T-shirt design revealed for fourth annual Dragonboat Race Day
One unique design caught the eye of DragonBoat Beaufort and Beaufort Art Council leaders. Heike Helbig’s creation will be used on the official Dragonboat Race Day T-shirts this year.
Her design “celebrates Beaufort and the Lowcountry while paying homage to the dragon,” a news release announcement from DragonBoat Beaufort said.
The race, in its fourth year, will be held Labor Day weekend at Henry C. Chambers Park in Beaufort. Proceeds from the race go to local families and individuals struggling with cancer. The 2016 race will be Sept. 3.
Last year’s race brought in about 700 paddlers, 32 teams, thousands of spectators and over $65,000, the release said.
