$3,000 worth of purses, shoes stolen from Beaufort Belk
Beaufort Police are searching for a man they say took eight purses and a pair of shoes valued at more than $3,000 from the Belk store on Robert Smalls Parkway on Tuesday.
The suspect, described by police as a black male weighting 185 pounds and standing 5’6” or 5’7”, simply gathered the items about 3:55 p.m. and left the store, according to department spokeswoman Officer Hope Able. He remains at large. The items were valued at $3,243.
The store has security cameras, but the department isn’t sure the footage can help identify the suspect, Able said.
