Two St. Helena Island burglaries believed connected
Two separate weekend burglaries on St. Helena Island’s Arbor Lane are believed connected, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.
Four rifles and a large amount of ammunition worth about $7,000 was taken from a gun safe in one home, a Sheriff’s Office report said.
The targeted homes sit across the street from each other and were the scenes of break ins around the same time. One home was hit between 5 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday. The second home was hit 6:25 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. Friday.
Capt. Bob Bromage of the Sheriff’s Office said the two burglaries appear to be connected based on physical proximity, similar dates and times and a pattern of forced entry. Entry into both homes was gained by breaking a window, the report said.
Two televisions, a radio, three tablets and five designer watches were stolen from the second home. Those items were valued at about $2,000.
