Beaufort County receives grant for Burton sewer work

Beaufort County has received a $1 million grant to provide sewer service to 175 houses off Parris Island Gateway in Burton, according to a news release.

The Community Block Development grant from the state Department of Commerce will fund sewer work for houses along Bonaire Circle and Joppa, Winsor and Falls roads.

Environmental review is expected to be completed this summer, with Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority beginning work after that.
