North Georgia administrator named USCB vice chancellor
The University of South Carolina Beaufort has appointed a new executive vice chancellor for academic affairs.
Eric Skipper will start in the role this summer. He has been serving as vice president for university affairs at the University of North Georgia and CEO of the school’s Oconee Campus. As vice president, Skipper has administrative oversight of three campuses, as well as economic development and continuing education across the university. He is also chairman of the implementation of the school’s 2014-2019 Strategic Plan.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Eric Skipper to the USCB family,” Chancellor Al Panu said. “He brings a dedication to excellence, and a breath of experience and skills that will serve our institution well.”
Skipper was one of 78 candidates from across the country. He will oversee all academic programming including faculty and curricula within academic departments, grant writing, the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research, the library and other areas of academic administration.
He replaces Gordon Haist, who retires this year.
