SC Humanities Festival kicks off in Beaufort County

S.C. Humanities Festival kicked off Thursday and events will be held throughout Beaufort County on Friday and Saturday.

The festival includes history lectures, film screenings, art shows and tours of historical sites and museums. A button is required for access to events and can be picked up at USCB Center for the Arts at 801 Carteret St. in Beaufort.

The Humanities Festival started in Beaufort in 1993 and was held in the city the first three years. It has since moved to venues throughout the state.

Beaufort is hosting the festival for the fifth time — the first since 2000.
