American Airlines adds new daily route out of Savannah airport

Local travelers will have one more daily route from Savannah to Washington, D.C., starting this fall.

American Airlines will begin offering a daily nonstop flight from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Oct. 6, adding to its single weekend departure. United already provides three daily nonstop flights to Washington Dulles International Airport.

The new American route is the latest expansion at the Savannah airport, most recently the addition of Sun Country Airlines, which began providing flights to Minneapolis/St.Paul in April. Allegiant will also add two weekly nonstop departures to Lexington, Ky., starting June 3.
