Beaufort Regional Chamber’s Civitas Awards announced

The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce named its top businesses, professionals and military service members during the annual Civitas Awards at Tabby Place in downtown Beaufort on Friday.

The winners were:

Tourism Leadership: The Beaufort Inn

Outstanding Employee: Margo Wehrenberg, Beaufort Memorial Hospital

Outstanding Lowcountry Young Professional: Kevin Dukes

Outstanding Leadership Beaufort Alumni: John Troutman

Outstanding Nonprofit: Lowcountry Habitat for Humanity

Community Stewardship: Carolina Sportscare

Spirit of Main Street: Anchorage 1770 Inn

Regional Excellence in Free Enterprise: Flint Group Beaufort

Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year: U.S. Marines Cpl. Daniel L. Odom

Junior Enlisted Service Member of the Year: U.S. Marines Lance Cpl. Jimmy J. Vertus

Military Citizenship: James W. Boozer

Lifetime of Leadership: Martin Goodman
