Beaufort event to prepare residents for possible hurricanes

A hurricane-preparedness event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 4 at Lowe’s in Beaufort.

Officials from the city of Beaufort, Beaufort police, Beaufort-Port Royal Fire Department, Burton Fire District, Beaufort County emergency services and Red Cross will be on hand to pass out information and answer questions. Some equipment will also be on display.

The event will be held near the store’s garden center.
