TCL to host events honoring military personnel

To celebrate “Serve South Carolina Day of Service,” the Technical College of the Lowcountry is hosting several free events for active duty military personnel, veterans, and their families.

A car wash will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 20 outside Building 12 at TCL’s Beaufort campus, 921 Ribaut Rd., according to a TCL news release.

TCL will host a barbecue at the same location starting at 2 p.m. May 21.

The event will include food, music, kids’ activities and bingo.

A candle-light vigil will follow the barbecue at 6 p.m. to honor past and present military members and veterans, the release said.
