Beaufort County school board holds meeting on ACE

The Beaufort County school board will hold a special-called meeting Monday evening to discuss the Beaufort-Jasper Academy for Career Excellence in executive session.

The closed-door meeting begins at 7 p.m., with a discussion of negotiations with the Jasper County School District.

Beaufort and Jasper counties have been working since 2014 toward an agreement on the future of the school past the 2016-2017 school year, when Beaufort County will exit the school's governance and cease paying two-thirds of the technical school’s $3.2 million budget.

The meeting will take place in the media center of Battery Creek High School, 1 Blue Dolphin Road, Beaufort.
