School board to hold two budget forums next week

The Beaufort County school board has added a third public forum for community members to learn more about the proposed fiscal year 2017 budget.

The first forum was held Thursday evening at Bluffton High School. The second will be held in Battery Creek High School’s media center from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday. The third will be held in Hilton Head Island High School’s media center from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Participants in each forum will see a presentation on the budget and will also have a chance to make comments to board members and ask questions.

The board hopes to officially certify its budget May 17.
