As Boundary Street project work continues in Beaufort, parts of First Street will be closed to through traffic starting Monday, a city news release said.

Signs will be posted at affected intersections behind Chick-fil-A and Walgreens and also near Westview Avenue, Centerview Drive and Hogarth Street. Local traffic will still be able to access homes on that section of First Street and the Boundary Street businesses, the release said.

Initial work involves relocating utility lines and installing a duct bank to bury overhead utilities. As the work continues on First Street, stormwater drainage work will begin.
