AMIkids Beaufort to host croquet fundraiser at Brays Island

AMIkids Beaufort will host a croquet fundraiser at Brays Island Plantation on Saturday.

The picnic will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Brays Island in Sheldon. A “captain’s party” for all participants will be held Friday at the historic home of Brantley Harvey Jr. in Beaufort’s National Historic Landmark District.

State Sen. Mike Fair, R-Greenville, will headline the Saturday event as grand marshal. A silent auction will include items such as imported cigars, golf outings, jewelry and vacations.

The event is the key fundraiser for the Dale program, providing education and treatment to children with troubled pasts. Teenagers work toward high school equivalency degrees and learn job skills such as welding and food service.

For information or to sign up a croquet team, call Mike Harris at 843-524-3770 or Mike Ingram at 843-846-3149.
