Burton moped crashes result in serious injuries
Two moped drivers involved in separate crashes in Burton were taken to Beaufort Memorial Hospital with serious injures Tuesday night and early Thursday morning.
The first crash happened around 11 p.m. Tuesday when a male pushing his moped against traffic on Trask Parkway was struck by a passing vehicle, according to a Burton Fire District news release.
The second crash happened around 2 a.m. Thursday when a woman driving a moped was struck on Parris Island Gateway.
Neither of the moped drivers were wearing helmets, the release said.
