Woman barricaded in Grays Hill home exits, taken to hospital

The Grays Hill woman who barricaded herself in her residence on Perryclear Drive exited without incident Friday evening, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Law enforcement was called to the woman’s home on a health and welfare check around 3 p.m. to find the woman barricaded inside the home, law enforcement officials said. The Sheriff’s Office declined to release more details about the cause of the barricade but said the woman is not suspected of a crime.

The woman was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Beaufort Memorial Hospital for evaluation, the release said.

No injuries were reported.
