Beaufort police to conduct safety checkpoint

The Beaufort Police Department will be stopping motorists at a safety check point on April 29.

The checkpoint will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. near the tennis court on Battery Creek Road and Southside Boulevard in Beaufort.

Officers will be checking for seat belts, driver’s licenses and vehicle license violations to fulfill a highway safety grant, a news release said Friday.
