Lady’s Island armed robbery suspect still at large

The suspect in an armed robbery reported Thursday on Lady's Island is still at large.

The robbery happened outside a residence on Club Road around 3:30 p.m., according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release.

The victim told deputies an African American male robbed him of undisclosed personal property at gunpoint and then ran toward Sea Island Parkway, the release said.

The suspect was described as a teenager or man in his early 20s wearing a camouflage jacket and carrying a small handgun.

No one was injured during the incident.

As the investigation continues, residents of the area should expect to see increased law enforcement activity.
