St. Helena park, recreation complex to reopen after improvements

Beaufort County’s parks department will hold a grand reopening for the St. Helena Park and Wesley E. Felix Complex at 179 Ballpark Road at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

New features include an additional playground, covered batting cage, restrooms and concession stand. The work also included new dugouts, backstops, bleachers, scoreboards and an upgraded lighting system.

The event is free and concessions will be half off.
