Beaufort County Open Land Trust earns accreditation

The Beaufort County Open Land Trust has been accredited by the Land Trust Accreditation Commission.

The first-time recognition required more than two years to complete, Land Trust director Cindy Baysden said. The commission evaluated a pre-application and formal application and other submitted documentation, examined the Land Trust’s practices, interviewed its officials and talked to the public.

Accreditation is good for five years.
