Boundary Street lane shift planned Thursday

The first lane shift of the Boundary Street project is scheduled for Thursday morning.

The far right lane heading into downtown will be closed to traffic Thursday morning. Four lanes will be maintained using the median.

During the Boundary Street shift, left turns will only be available at Robert Smalls Parkway, Palmetto Street, Hogarth Street and the Kmart shopping center.

Both lanes headed away from downtown Beaufort will be unaffected. Concrete medians have been torn out to allow for the lane shifts.

Boundary Street traffic is being diverted to allow construction of a bank to bury utility cables, curbs and sidewalks.
