Burglary suspect sought in Beaufort, Port Royal

The Beaufort and Port Royal Police Departments are seeking the public’s help identifying the suspect in three reported burglaries that happened Wednesday morning.

The burglaries occurred in homes in the areas of Battery Shores, Picket Fences and Shadow Moss between 8:45 and 11:45 a.m., according to Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The burglar forcibly entered by smashing glass doors and windows before searching the homes for valuables, the release said.

Several witnesses reported a suspicious brown or maroon sedan in the area around the time of the burglaries. The vehicle was described as possibly a Honda, Hyundai or Kia that was missing its front quarter panel on the passenger side.

The male driver was described as African-American, 6-feet-2-inches tall with short black hair and wearing a polo shirt.
